Ontario Provincial Police have closed highway 417 in both directions near Hawkesbury following a collision.
Police say a tractor trailer carrying a tanker full of fuel crashed into the median, spilling thousands of litres of fuel on the road. The road has been closed while police investigator over fears the fuel might ignite. The Ministry of the Environment has been called in to investigate.
Detours are in place as police have closed Highway 417 in both directions between Barb Road and St. Eugene exits east of Highway 34.
