It's the last weekend before Christmas, and that means the final push is on for donations to the Toy Mountain campaign.

So far this year, the Salvation Army has already donated more than 12,000 bags of toys for kids in need.

Toy Mountain puts presents under the tree for many kids in the Capital who may not otherwise receive any holiday gifts.

By Christmas Day, the program expects to help about 16,000 children up to 12 years old, which represents about 5,000 families.

Volunteers are busy packing everything from board games to Barbies. Popular items this year include Lego, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars and Nerf toys for boys, and Lego, Disney princesses and anything from the movie ‘Frozen’ for girls.
