The man charged for ‘fornicating’ on a statue at the National War Memorial was represented in an Ottawa courthouse Thursday.

Maciej Andrej Szczypka did not make an appearance, but was represented by his lawyer, Jessica Abou-Eid. Szczypka was released on bail in early August after being charged with mischief on August, 2nd, 2015.

A pre-trial date has been set for September 15, 2015. Szczypka is expected to appear in court again on October 15th, 2015.

Szczypka was arrested at the National War Memorial on August 2nd after witnesses called 9-1-1 to report his strange behaviour. Police say the accused climbed the National War Memorial and then "began acts of fornicating on the statue."
