An Ottawa man is facing several sexual assault and sexual interference charges after investigations into separate incidents. New charges were laid overnight and police allege there are five victims.

On Jan. 13, 2015, Ottawa Police received information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre regarding a video of child pornography uploaded via Omegle.

In September 2015, police began an investigation into alleged sexual assaults on a boy under the age of 10 dating back to the 1990s.

On Tuesday, a search warrant was executed in the 8000 block of Jeanne D’Arc Blvd. in the east end and police seized several computers.

54-year-old Danny Burgess is charged with:

  • accessing child pornography
  • possession of child pornography
  • make available child pornography
  • sexual assault
  • sexual interference
  • invitation to sexual touching.

On Wednesday police laid additional charges.

From an investigation in 2003 in relation to an alleged incident with a boy under the age of 10, Burgess has been charged with

  • sexual assault
  • sexual interference
  • invitation to sexual touching.

From an investigation in 1999 in relation to three separate alleged incidents involving three different girls under the age of 10, Burgess is charged with:

  • sexual assault x3
  • sexual interference x3

A second charge of possession of child pornography in relation to the Feb. 2 search warrant has also been laid.

Burgess is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
