The Ottawa Senators started a hometown tour today with a wet celebration at Canadian Tire Centre.

Team owner Eugene Melnyk and star defenceman Erik Karlsson got splashed in the ALS ice bucket challenge.

Karlsson promptly challenged Ottawa Senators assistant general manager Pierre Dorian, golfer Brad Fritsch, and Carl Gustaf, the King of Sweden to get drenched for ALS.

Earlier, the team announced a major milestone for the Ottawa Senators Foundation.

The foundation has raised more than $100 million dollars in community contributions since its inception 22 years ago.

From Rogers House to community rinks, Melnyk says the foundation has touched almost every member of the community.

The Ottawa Senators have embarked on a hometown tour throughout eastern Ontario and western Quebec.

Players and fans mingled today at the first stops in Brockville and Cornwall.
