A 69-year-old man is dead after an accident at the Rideau Ferry Regatta Saturday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say the fatal incident happened when a boat involved in a vintage and histortic race boat demonstration became airborne, ejecting the operator from the vessel.

The driver of the boat has been identified as 69-year-old Bill Pearson of Minnesota. 

That man was transported to hospital by Lanark Paramedics where he was later pronounced dead. 

OPP are investigating the circumstances of crash.
