Liberal candidate John Fraser is the new MPP for Ottawa South.
He defeated PC candidate Matt Young by just over a thousand votes.
John Fraser received 14925 votes, which is 42.3 per cent of the vote.
Matt Young receved 13631 votes, or 38.7 per cent.
The NDP's Bronwyn Funiciello came in third with 5030, or 3.1 per cent.
