TORONTO - A Kingston man is facing charges after a string of robberies was carried out by a phoney cop in downtown Toronto.

Officers say a man claiming to be an undercover officer stole wallets from elderly people over the past few weeks.

The man would accuse his victims of dealing drugs and then take their wallets.

Adrian McQuade, 62, is charged with 14 counts of robbery.

He was arrested after security video of a man was released to the public.

McQuade appeared in a College Park courtroom Thursday morning.
