The powerhouse University of Ottawa GeeGees women’s soccer team are provincial champions, while the Carleton men’s soccer team will settle for a berth in nationals.
Striker Pilar Khoury scored in extra time to give the top-ranked GeeGees a 1-0 home win over Laurier in Sunday’s final.
The GeeGees, who have given up one goal all season, will take their national number-one ranking to next weekend’s Canadian championship in Victoria.
The Carleton Ravens lost 5-0 to McMaster at York University Sunday to finish second in the OUA.
Their berth in the provincial final already earned them a spot in the national championship tournament Nov. 8-11 in Laval.
