Gatineau mom charged in death of 6-month-old infant

Gatineau Police have charged a 22-year-old mother with the manslaughter death of her 6-month-old baby.

Police say the charges stem from an incident at a Gatineau apartment last November.

On November 16th, Police say first responders arrived at an apartment complex on Eardley road to find an infant without vital signs. The baby girl was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after.

Martine Soucie, 22, is charged with aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, and manslaughter.

She plead not guilty in court and was released on a $500 bail.
