After yet another winter storm in the capital, it seems like summer is still a long, long way off.

But, as CTV's Eric Longley discovered, many of the things that make summer so enjoyable are in fact available right now.

Do you like to golf? The Superdome at Ben Franklin Park in Nepean houses one of Canada’s largest indoor driving ranges, with 25 hitting stations. General Manager Tena How also points out the dome plays host to soccer games, Canada’s only indoor winter slow pitch league, and an active indoor walking scene.

How about rock climbing? There are several indoor climbing walls in the Capital. One in particular, at the Dovercourt Recreation Centre, even simulates climbing on a hot, humid summer day. That’s because it’s right beside the indoor swimming pool – a first in Eastern Ontario, according to Program Coodinator Billy Russell. The Centre also offers swimming, of course. And it even has a canoe in the pool to help teach water safety.

It may not be summer for months to come. But with a little effort and a little imagination you can enjoy a little slice of summer right now.
