18-year-old Katrina was killed in a serious two-car collision near Arnprior Thursday afternoon. The three people in the other vehicle are in hospital with not life-threatening injuries.
Ottawa police says Lyman's Nissan was heading south on County Road 29 near Galetta Side Road in west Ottawa when the car hit the shoulder. Police say it appears she overcorrected the error, striking the oncoming pickup truck.
A 27-year-old man driving the truck suffered serious injuries. His two passengers, a 23-year-old woman and 56-year-old man, suffered minor injuries. All three were transferred to an Arnprior hospital.
The crash forced police to close the intersection at County Road 29 and Galetta Side Road. The road is now open to traffic.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
