Gatineau Police arrested two men who were dressed in military fatigues and carrying fake firearms Friday afternoon after receiving a number of 9-1-1 calls.
Police say the pair was spotted on Du-Portage Street at a shopping mall by alarmed witnesses. They were arrested a short time later.
Following an investigation, police say the guns were fake and it is believed the 18-year-old men were heading to an on-going science fiction show called G-Anime 2015, which opened at the nearby Palais Du Congress in Gatineau.
Police say the teens were fined $270 each for unlawfully carrying around fake guns, which police have seized as evidence.
