As new businesses go, it’s one of the bigger ones.

In fact, some call it epic.

The Epic Indoor Bike Park is a new facility setting up in a 53,000 square foot warehouse. A team of professional BMX stunt riders have designed and built kilometres of ramps jumps, bumps, ledges, tracks, and almost anything else you can traverse on two wheels.

The team is led by designer Jordan Bonifacio. He says while it’s been built by pros, the facility will appeal to all skill levels. "We cater to all styles of riding and all ages. You can be a beginner. You can be advanced. Everyone's going to have fun here," he says.

Some of the park’s features include smaller ramps and jumps for novices, a foam pit for practising tricks, and even a ramp built on thick foam to cushion falls.

There will also be three party rooms and an eating/lounging area. Owner Lin Zhang hopes a day at the bike park will appeal to families. "Where else are kids going to bike in the winter, right?"

A day pass will start at around $25. You can bring your own bike or rent one on site.

The Epic Indoor Bike Park is located at 110 Bentley Avenue in Ottawa. The opening is slated for February 13th.
