The two deer that spent a cold night trapped on the St. Lawrence River near Summerstown, ON made it back to land Tuesday afternoon.
Nancy Young who lives in the area near Cornwall told CTV Ottawa that the water around the deer had frozen and they were seen running through an apple orchard around 1 p.m.
Young’s photos were circulated widely online since being posted on the weekend.
Witnesses say the deer ventured onto the ice while being chased by coyotes.
