Dave Smith spent his 80th birthday slicing brisket onto fresh rye bread smothered with mustard.
At age 80, Smith is showing no signs of slowing down.
Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson honoured Smith by naming a street after the philanthropist in the community of Riverside South.
Watson estimates Smith has raised more than 100 million dollars for charities in the capital and throughout the world.
Smith closed Nate's Deli on Rideau Street two years ago on its 50th anniversary.
Now, he's back serving up his world famous smoked meat at Nate's Family Kitchen on Merivale Road.
