It was a busy morning for Ottawa paramedics on Sunday as they responded to more than one collision between a cyclist and a vehicle.

A 71-year-old male cyclist is in serious condition in hospital after being struck by a vehicle on King Edward Avenue at Laurier Avenue early Sunday morning.

Paramedics said they received the call for an injured cyclist just before 6 a.m. They said the cyclist suffered severe head trauma and injuries to his leg.

Then around 10:21 a.m. paramedics said a 28-year-old female cyclist was struck by a vehicle at McArthur Avenue and North River Road.

Paramedics say she was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
