The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has laid charges following a recent bank robbery.

On April 22, 2016, at approximately 7:35 pm, a lone suspect entered a bank situated along the 1400 block of Richmond Road. The suspect produced a note indicating a robbery and making a demand for cash. The suspect fled the premises with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was located by responding patrol officers at a nearby address a short time later. He was arrested without incident. There were no injuries.

Karandip DHALIWAL, 42, of Ottawa, has been charged with single count each of Robbery and Breach of probation. He appeared in court on April 23, 2016, and was held in custody. He appears next on April 27, 2016.
