The torrid scoring pace of the first period didn't last and when the dust settled, the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada had beaten the Gatineau Olympiques 5-4 Friday night.

Seven goals were scored in the first 14:50 of the game, with Armada (28-20-2-1) winger Raphael Pouliot opening things up on the power play a minute and a half in.

The period also included a second power play goal for Blainville-Boisbriand off the stick of Jess Tanguay and a shorthanded goal for Gatineau's (19-24-4-4) Alexandros Soumakis.

It ended with the Olympiques leading 4-3.

The second was where the tide turned for the Armada, outshooting Gatineau 17-7 and getting goals from jean-Christophe Laflamme and Christopher Clapperton to take the lead.

The third period was scoreless.

Blainville-Boisbriand starter Storm Phaneuf was pulled after Soumakis' short-handed goal, his third allowed on three shots.

Etienne Marcoux came in and stopped 18 of 19 for the win.

Francois Lacerte made 26 saves in defeat.
