Kate Eggins

Kate has lived and worked in some of the great cities of the world: Paris, New York, Sydney. But none of them felt quite as much like home as Ottawa.

She began her career in journalism at the CBC after winning the prestigious Joan Donaldson scholarship. Since joining CTV Ottawa in 2005, Kate has covered a wide-range of stories - President Barack Obama's first foreign trip to the Capital, the Royal visits of the Queen and Prince Charles and the homegrown terror plot. Though, the stories of everyday people remain the ones she's most proud of telling.

When Kate isn't reporting, she's skating the canal, X-country skiing in Gatineau Park, practicing yoga or planting a new perennial in her garden. She grew up a "bunhead" as a student at Canada's National Ballet School. She remains a big fan of all types of dance and loves spending time in the great outdoors.
